Met Gala Makeups 2025

The Met Gala 2025: Hair & Makeup Moments That Made Me Gasp (In a Good Way)

As a makeup artist, the Met Gala is basically my Super Bowl. Every year I clear my evening, grab a snack (or a glass of wine, let’s be honest), and scroll with wide eyes as the looks roll in. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” wasn’t just powerful—it was personal, intentional, and rooted in history. The fashion was sharp, tailored, and rich with cultural storytelling, but what truly gave me chills were the hair and makeup choices that brought each look to life.

There’s something magical about seeing beauty used not just to complement an outfit, but to say something. Whether it was high-gloss skin to reflect strength, braided crowns symbolizing heritage, or eye makeup that told a story all on its own—this year, the beauty looks were just as editorial as the gowns (if not more so).

Here are the moments I haven’t stopped thinking about—from the glam squads who nailed it, to the techniques I’ll be trying out in the studio ASAP.

Doechii 3D LV logo is my absolute favourite! It comes with a masuline feel like an iconic scar on a bond villan. She looks like the boss and she is the moment.

Pamela Anderson

The girls that get it, get it and the girls that don't, don't. Pamela will always be an icon in my mind, from her 90's looks and to her gentle and calming aura. Pamela very rarely wears makeup since the death of her makeup artist Alexis Vogel her makeup is a 'barley there' fresh look, but of course with a nod to her iconoic 90's brows. I love the softnes of the makeup and the natual waves, paired with a bold contrasting midi fringe. And don't even get me started on the little hair tuck behind the ear, showing off that incredible ear bling, unreal!

Her look reminds me of a knight in shining armour.

There was some really incredible Glam makeups this year that I could stare at forever, but Jenna Ortega is the ONE.

The middle part, the 1920's soft glam is just everything! It has the perfect balance of Gothic, Jenna Ortega's signature style, with traditional 1920s make up done with a softer edge that suits her face beautifully.
